Violence in Santa Cruz Bolivia

This week has been a crazy and scary one for us. Tuesday morning we woke up and all was well. After lunch, turned on the news while Logan was sleeping and low and behold there was fighting in the plaza. The autonomistas were fighting to take over the government buildings. By end day they had taken over the INRA, taxes, Entel (telecommunications), migration, government radio and government television. Tear gas was thrown by military during the fighting. The smell was carried all over town by the wind. Babies crying and in pain from the pepper spray.

Then, the airport was taken over. Rumors were spread that Evo was sending military troops, so the autonomistas took over the airport not allowing flights to come or go. Only international flights. However, American Airlines today decided they are canceling all flights till further notice.

The fighting isnt just here in Santa Cruz, its in 5 departments all together. Luckily Santa Cruz is the safest, despite the violence.

The buildings that were taken over were ransacked by those who were seeking opportunity. The government is claiming the Autonomistas did all the ransacking, but I am sure a little of everyone did. Computers, phones, calling cards, and furniture was stolen. What couldnt be taken was burned.

Wednesday there was more violence. The Matistas (followers of Evo) decided to get there revenge and went to Cotas and a few other Camba Coop's. The Matistas and Unionistas met in several places fighting it out into the night and next day.

Now, the Bimodal (bus station) is taken over. There are talks that the Matistas are going to cut off the water supply.

Evo told the US ambassador Goldberg to go back to America. He claims that Goldberg (and the US) is financially supporting the Autonomistas/Unionistas and told them to do the ransacking and destruction. He is also claiming that the US was involved and some ransacking too. Well, I do not remember seeing any gringos breaking into these buildings and fighting.

Evo is claiming that the Autonomistas/Unionistas are destroying democracy. Last time I looked Evo was trying to make Bolivia go towards socialism. Isnt that destruction of democracy?

Although I do not agree with ransacking and destruction of property, what Evo is doing to this country is wrong. In reality, he is not the president, Chavez is. Because Chavez is the one who financially supported Evo's campaign. Chavez is who Evo has on speed dial. Chavez is who whispers in his ear what to do what to say.

Yes Evo won the election for presidency by about 54%. He won with promises of Autonomia. Now, he is refusing to give what he promised. Cruceños are mad. The referendum vote on Aug 10 to see if he would stay president he won by 67%. But he only won because dead people rose from their grave and voted for him. He only won because people voted more than once with several fake id's. He only won because in several cities votes were changed.

Evo is a dictator. Things here will only get worse before they get better. Hitler was voted into power, look where that got Germany. Evo is claiming that all the indians problems are because of the people from the media luna (Santa Cruz region). Because that is where the money is, that is where the gas is, that is where the minerals are. Every day he reminds the indians that its the cruceños fault they are poor. Its our fault they have no education. Its our fault they dont work. Its our fault for whatever problem they have.

So, with that in mind I do remember seeing a large group of cruceños forcing the indians to beg for food and money on the streets instead of looking for a job. Yes, this is the poorest country in South America. But there are jobs. Now, working in a resteraunt might not be the most glorious job to have, but it pays and is better than sticking your hand out and asking for money. The ladies who sell fruit in the streets, I have respect for them. They are working. Yes, they are poor, but at least they are working for their money.

I am mean, this is my opinion from what I have seen here in Santa Cruz. Deal with it.

Way too Early

So around 4:30 this morning I start hearing this crunching sound. And I start thinking, holy crap someone is in the apt. Now, keep in mind that I was sleeping great until I heard this noise. So, I listen and dont hear anything else, so I go back to sleep. A few minutes later I hear one of Logans toys start talking. I have always believed this toy to be possessed. It is the dog that sings and talks and it just goes off if you breathe on it. So, this thing starts talking.

So, I start thinking, holy crap either someone is in my house or there is a ghost. Now, my heart is in my ears just pounding as hard as it can. I am sitting there thinking if there is anything that I can use as a weapon. Then, common sense dawns on me as I start waking up. We live in the country, there are mice. It was most likely a mouse.

About this time I start hearing dings from the computer (which means I have email). I hear about 5 or 6, so I am thinking, wow I am popular maybe I got an order. We could really use the money right now so that would be great.

So, now it is 5 and I am totally awake. Dont really want to get out of bed though, so I turn on the tv. Of course Back to the Future 3 is on (which is my fav of all of them). So, I am forced to watch "Clint Eastwood" make it back to the present! lol.

I finally get up, come to my comp and low and behold all my emails were junk! sniff*sniff. No one loves me! lol!

So, its too freaking early. But on the up side, I woke up with the llama song in my head! Have you heard it? Its great!

Heres a llama theres a llama and another little llama fuzzy llama funny llama llama llama duck!

AARRGGHHH!!!

So this weekend I had a crafts fair. I got up at 4 am Saturday to load up my car and head out. Logan had to come with me because Joseph was working. So, I met my friend Carrie around 5:30 and we set out. Get there and things are looking great. It is a large place, there are lots of people setting up to sell. So, we are thinking that we will make loads of money.

I should have known there was something wrong when I backed into a tree. Yeah, a big freakin tree. In my defense, it was still dark outside and I didnt know it was there. Luckily, it didnt do anything to my bumper, so, unless Joseph reads this he will never know.

Then, we get to our spot and we are setting up. Our legs start burning, we look down and there are ants everywhere! I am allergic to ants and I start swelling up. Lucky me I had no benedryl so I had to go off to find some. Found it, $7 for a freakin bottle. But had to have it.

Upside, Joseph got off of work around 8 so he came and picked up Logan. Although all day he was calling me telling me to come home because he didnt want to watch Logan. BabY!!!!!

Well, we got our first sale around 11. It was a very slow day. I did make a little bit of money, but so not worth the pain. We were supposed to stay til dark, but we left early and decided to take our chances at the casino. Again, something Joseph doesnt know unless he reads this! lol!

Carrie did really good. I came out even, which was fine with me. I actually would have been ahead, because I hit and won about 400 credits (of course we were playing the nickel machines so that was like $20). However I kept playing! Very addicting. I got a free drink though. Which I needed after yesterday.

So, today, I went to do the fair again. We already paid for our spot so we didnt want to waste the day. It starts pouring down rain. So we are in the pouring rain trying to get everything put up. By the time we were done we were soaked from head to toe to underpanties. Not the greatest thing to spend our time doing.

I am so exhausted, back is killing me, and I could really use a drink!

My White Trash Beginnings!

White Trash

When my mom was 18, she decided that she did not want to live at home anymore. She thought the best way for her to get out was to get married with her boyfriend of 2 months. Of course, they were madly in love (yeah right). Needless to say, a year later, I came into their happy trailerpark lives. Well, they were young, working at Mccy D's (mcdonalds), and living in a trailer. They had little income, and a baby didnt help. However, my sperm donor couldn't keep his pants on, and thus my brother was born a year after me.

Ah, he was the little delight in my pa's eyes. And yet, a year later, another bro was born. By this time, my mom and pa were not getting along. She was 21, had 3 kids, and he was a drunk. So, they did what anyone at the time did, they got divorced.

So, now, here is the situation: My mom is 22, 3 kids, divorced, has a full hysterectimy, then (get this) she gets married AGAIN!! haha isnt that funny. this time, he is 10 years older than her, they are in class together, and were only dating for about 2 months. but it worked out, after all these years they are still married. He is my daddy, adopted us when I was in 8th grade.

In '86 there was a huge flood that came in and it took away our trailer. my mom put all 3 of us babies on top of the fridge while we waited to be rescued. They came just in time.
When we lived there, the lady in the trailer next to us babysat us while my mom worked. She had twin girls and a little boy.

Now, I know that babies dont have memories, but I remember her. She was horrible. We were not allowed to sit on the furniture because my mom smoked. She wouldnt change us, or take us to the bathroom. She barely fed us. She would make us watch soap operas instead of Bert & Ernie. And she would not even warm up our food, so we were stuck eating cold hotdogs, and dry macaroni.

One day, I was going to the bathroom, I was 3, and the floor around the toilet had started to rot, and was standing on it, it broke, and I landed on the ground under the trailer.

My sperm donor (his name is John by the way), was an alcoholic. He loved the middle child, Will. In fact, he loved him so much that he thought it was funny and cute to see babies drunk. So, he would give Will what was left out of his beer cans. Just imagine a 1 year old stumbling around drunk. Not a dinner conversation

Well, that is all for now on my trailer park life. After the flood, we moved up to a one bedroom apt. (yes 5 people in one bedroom). and life kept getting better (sckof!) but, as you can tell I am a lot of sarcastic, and I poke a lot of fun at myself. oh! and just to straighten things out, the person to whom I refer to as my sperm donor is my biological father. however, I saw him for a month when I was 10 and that was it. he was not involved in my life, so he does not get the reckognition of being my father.
much love

I have a blog

So. the whole world has a blog. Its like a diary, only you dont get the hand cramps and you dont have to scribble over mistakes. I have decided to take this leap and join the mass world out there. Let me show you my quirkiness. So, take it for what you will and for what its worth but its nothing personal. Just whats on my mind. I am a pretty nice person....except for when I'm not! lol
